Social Enterprise Academy Finals

The Social Enterprise Academy was developed to provide professional management and financial growth planning resources to social enterprises that have developed sustainable, innovative products and services for solving major social problems. Fifteen San Diego nonprofit organizations qualified for the first round of presentations. The three finalists were selected by a panel of representatives of Net Impact, Social Venture Partners, venture capitalists and business students from local universities.
Finalists: Volunteer San Diego, ElderHelp of San Diego and The Kids College
Each of these organizations are a demonstration of the power of social enterprise to promote a social purpose in the context of a competitive marketplace.

Venture Challenge 2008

San Diego State University's annual international new venture competition. This competition gives graduate students from around the world an opportunity to seek investment capital for their business ideas and audience members the chance to learn from community experts what investors want to see in a new company presentation. The international event draws top student teams from universities and provides them with a forum to present to potential investors and compete for over $20,000 in prizes.
